Well known co in the agricultural sector has a vacancy for an engineer who has exp in a packhouse as well as packaging equipment design and installation. Responsibilities:
Responsible for researching, designing, planning, implementing, directing and coordinating, usually through subordinate, construction and
maintenance of agricultural structures, facilities and systems. Participating in the conceptual development of most projects, especially in
mechanisation, packhouses, renewable energy, resource use management and efficient and effective use of energy.


Requirements:
Registered Engineer with Engineering Council of South Africa with BSc-Eng/BEng-Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering
Financial Management: Have experience with financial statements, budget control and CAPEX
5 to 10 years’ direct experience in the packhouse design, energy and management in agricultural industry
Sound knowledge of construction methodologies, draw and read blueprints and understand all technical aspects of construction
Certificate in Health and Safety training.
Must be computer literate and have a sound knowledge of software MS Word, Excel, Civil designer, Caddie, AutoCAD and GIS systems
Valid SA driver’s license

Maintenance Manager

Well established company has a vacancy for the abovementioned who will ensure that the facilities, layout and machinery used to produce new and existing materials and goods run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes total preventative maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical and electrical. Includes people management and budgetary/cost reporting. Responsibilities:
Lead the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational
equipment and facilities infrastructure. Responsible for planned scheduling creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out. Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime
reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department. Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.


Requirements:
Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTech NQF5
Extensive plant level (FMCG) experience with significant proven man management experience
Completed a fully indentured apprenticeship with a mechanical/ electrical/ electronic discipline
Technical capability and understanding
Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), lean manufacturing
Experience of managing Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities for maintenance
Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities:
Electrical and mechanical activities with reference to preventative maintenance and construction work.
Responsible for installation, maintenance and construction of equipment in accordance with sound engineering practices and equipment specifications.
Develop, modify, construct and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipment.
Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedures.
Ensure personal and co-workers adherence and compliance to Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Handle breakdowns in an effective manner.
Quick and timeous response to breakdowns on the plant.
Accurate completion of administrative forms.
Work overtime, do standby and be available for call-outs should the need arise.


Requirements:
Good technical ability
Good communication skills - written and verbal
Planning and co-ordinating skills
Must be willing to work shifts, overtime and do standby duty.
Must be willing to train other employees.
N3 and Millwright Trade Test Certificate
At least 3 years post qualification relevant maintenance experience in a production environment
Experience with Allen-Bradley switchgear, Mitsubishi VSD, PLC/ Modicon Circuitry/Programming experience, Electronic circuitry and
instrumentation.
Experience in flameproof equipment and high-speed packaging machinery.
Valid Code 08 drivers license.
