Engineering Manager

Well known co in the food manufacturing sector has a vacancy for an Engineering Manager who will manage, lead and transform the
manufacturing plant into a high performing unit, delivering volume and quality by achieving low margins of downtime. He/She will manage the planning, coordination and control of Engineering/Maintenance processes & equipment and ensure maximum available time to production. Responsibilities:
Manage the maintenance process with Shopware/Asset Care with schedules, planning and organising the sites assets.
Manage the maintenance department with cost effective measures and initiatives.
Implement, develop and mentor on TMP and Lean manufacturing policies and procedures.
Ensure and demonstrate a World Class mindset and approach to the execution of the all Engineering/Operational activities.
Making sure that products are produced on time and are of best quality.
Maintain and control all areas of GMP, occupational health safety and hygiene as well as food safety and HACCP.
Yearly audits and successful BRC accreditation.
Ensure KPI targets are met – OTIF%, ATP%, MPS% and Downtime%.
Working with other HOD’s to implement the company's policies and goals.
Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.
Supervising and motivating a team of workers.
Reviewing worker performance.
Identifying training needs and implementing training initiatives.
Ensuring the factory environment is kept in neat, tidy and orderly fashion at all times.
Taking responsibility for the opening and locking up of the factory as and when required.
Taking responsibility of being the main contact in the event of an alarm activation at the factory.
Work closely with the project team to finalize and successfully implement CAPEX projects.
Ensure legal compliance to all regulations.
Responsible for technical plant documentation.
Responsible for the implementation of new and upgraded equipment.


Requirements:
BSc / B Eng / B Tech – Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumental Engineering
GCC (Government Competency Certificate) will be advantage
Knowledge financial measurements of Operations, Capital Management experience or advanced Management qualifications
Extensive experience using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), ERP and other relevant computer software and systems effectively
Operational systems experience using SHOPWARE
5+ years of experience applying Lean and 5S techniques in a Lean manufacturing environment
5+ years production experience in a food, chemical, beverage or related batch and ISO 9001 manufacturing environment
5+ knowledge of multidisciplinary engineering functions is essential
5+ as a Maintenance Manager/Plant Operations
3+ years of experience in cross-functional project or program management
5+ World Class Manufacturing exposure to both processes, practices and equipment
In excess of 10 yrs experience in total

Preventative maintenance of irrigation and packline pumps.
Maintenance scheduling of pack lines, pumps, filters, picking trailers and overhead chain conveyors.
Maintenance of electronic equipment (Greefa, bulk bin and other machinery).
Generate and implementation of engineering solution, designs, considerations of new and revamp projects.
Planning, scheduling and resource management of these projects.
Quality and client satisfaction management.
Ensure that the workshop, construction sites, personnel and contractor comply with the company policy and regulation of health and safety.
Task allocation, monitoring and evaluation of all works.
Staff mentorship and career development.
Equipment and tools management.


Requirements:
Boilermaker Trade Certificate, 10 yrs exp in design and construction of packing lines, trailers, civil structures, pressurised
steel pipes and pump maintenance.
Certificate in Health & Safety training
Computer literate - AutoCad, Caddie, GIS Survey Equipment
Proven project management experience
