Responsibilities:

Answer customer briefs with fragrances from the collection for Fine Fragrance, Beauty Care and Home Care.
Work with Perfumers and Evaluators from other centres when creating or modifying fragrance/s for projects.
Providing accurate feedback to Perfumers, other evaluators and Project team.
Management of Fragrance Collection.
Olfactive analyses of local market, recommendations for local customers’ brands.
Write compelling fragrance descriptions with a view to selling selected fragrances for a specific project.
Customer presentations : Market overviews, olfactive analyses and project submissions.
Ensuring that all aspects of projects are coordinated to meet deadlines as well as prioritize all projects from KAMs within South Africa primarily and areas of Sub-Saharan Africa as per mandate.
Supporting the South Africa team and from time to time the Sub Saharan Africa team by identifying suitable fragrances as per action standards of Customers (or Internal Proactive) Briefs and within the stated timelines.
Providing appropriate and timely feedback on all aspects of the projects including but not limited to evaluation feedback, project status update, back up plans etc. to the concerned stakeholders.
Support the teams on the projects by providing qualified fragrance feedback whether in the form of olfactive analysis, evaluation report or fragrance story for substantiation.
Building strong working relationships with other development centers for creation and/ or modification of fragrances.
Co-ordinating with stakeholders to plan and prioritize projects and initiatives.
Building and refining local fragrance library and updating it regularly.
Liaise with Business Development & Application (in consultation with KAMs) to plan for proactive testing of fragrances in consumer panels.
Build strong fragrance understanding of relevant markets and categories (including study of new launches) and share knowledge with key stakeholders (Perfumers, Evaluators, KAMs, Marketing).
Help improve the win rate for the company.
Support KAMs in helping improve the quality of briefs as per the importance of project / customer, participate in joint discussions with the customers at the time of project initiation and during submissions.
Conducting joint evaluation sessions to update the teams about fragrance kits.
Conduct olfactive workshops for Customers, new joinees and existing team members.

Requirements:

3 years minimum Evaluation experience in the Fragrance industry in South Africa and preferably also neighbouring markets such as Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Mauritius, not a must but should have the ability to develop expertise for these markets.

Good technical knowledge of cosmetic and home care bases
