A well-known food manufacturing company in the East Rand has a vacancy for a Cost and Management Accountant who is responsible for ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis and tracing costs back to underlying activities. Responsibilities:

Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle together with the responsible managers that are accountable for the various inventory categories.
Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues.
Update standard costs in the bills of material.
Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month end close.
Accumulate and apply overheads costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.
Work with the commercial and inventory management team to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory.
Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses.
Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances, stock count and usage variances.

Requirements:

3+ years of accounting/costing/finance experience.
B.com degree or comparable equivalent.
Syspro and inventory costing modes and practices essential.
Experience with extracting and analysing large databases advantageous.
3+ years in an FMCG environment.
