Well known food manufacturer in the West Rand has a vacancy for the abovementioned who will manage the logistics division from intake to point of delivery. This incumbent will co-ordinate all activities pertaining to truck/rail transport so that effective movement of product as per planned flows are attained, secondly, develop and implement SOP’s that ensure the aforementioned product flow meets the required performance levels. Managing relationships with stakeholders and ensuring adherence to SLA’s, so too overseeing the performance of the logistics contracts forms an integral function of this role. Responsibilities:

Stock Management:
Manage and direct the storage, labelling and dispatch of finished products and raw materials in line with costs and quality standards. Accountable for managing the
storage plan for finished products and/or raw material ensuring space is used efficiently.
Maintain storage facilities and/or the assembly of storage facilities.
Manage warehouse space, made up of various storage spaces adequately and according to relevant legislation. Manage and report on available stock levels to ensure
production plan is achieved.
Manage and report spoils/damages in the facility and seek corrective action to reduce spoils.
Oversee and manage the final product labelling according to client specifications and monthly targets for specific sites. Manage monthly stock taking.

Transport and Delivery:
Manage, coordinate and monitor transport operations.
Manage and/or oversee the procurement of cost effective service providers.
Maintain relationships with service Providers and Clients
Manage the effective planning and scheduling of loads being received.
Monitor the maintenance of in-house equipment such as trucks, forklifts

Health & Safety/Governance and Compliance:
Adhere to and meet all relevant safety targets and measurements within the area of responsibility. Monitor any trends in food and operational safety compliance issues
and proactively address to resolve. Actively address all customer and supplier concerns.
Adhere to, and lead in the compliance of all Environmental, Health and Safety and all other applicable regulatory statutes, and all other safety and quality systems

Financial Management:
Manage budgets and monitor expenses ensuring expenditure is within the budget. Continuously strive to save costs

People Management:
Provide leadership to the team, defining objectives to be achieved by the department.
Deploy people management processes — workforce planning, recruitment & selection, learning and development, performance management, career and succession planning and
employee relations etc. effectively, in line with organisational policies, procedures and prevailing improvement initiatives.
Manage the working environment and ensure it contributes to improving staff morale and increasing productivity.
Design and review operations organisational structure to support operational plans and strategy, in collaboration with HR.

Quality:
Ensure alignment of all work processes to the required quality standards. Proactively identify continual improvement strategies.
Action agreed quality initiatives ensuring that they are aligned to tasks/ processes/ systems. Implement corrective actions identified within specified time.

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF level 7 Is compulsory
Logistics & Supply Chain in FCMG is required
Up to 6 years experience in a similar position
Financial Management background will be an added advantage
